We’re looking for a structured, execution-focused, hands-on and experienced Compliance & Risk Officer to take full ownership of compliance implementation, internal policy governance and company risk transparency at MILES.

A Compliance Management System and a policy framework are already in place. The focus now is on reviewing, refining, and operationalizing this framework, and ensuring that compliance, internal controls, and risk considerations are consistently embedded into how we work across the company.

You bring a clear plan, adapt it to the realities on the ground, and drive implementation forward with the judgment and pragmatism needed to balance regulatory expectations with fast-paced operations. You actively promote a culture of compliance and documentation across the company.

Your Responsibility

Policy Governance & Implementation

  • Own the full lifecycle of compliance-related policies from drafting and review to rollout and communication

  • Maintain and evolve key documents (e.g., Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Policy, Approval Framework)

  • Deliver targeted training and awareness measures to ensure policies are understood and applied

  • Ensure policies are effectively adopted and embedded across teams

Operationalize Compliance Across the Organization

  • Drive the implementation of the CMS (aligned with ISO 37301 / IDW PS 980) across all relevant functions

  • Translate legal and regulatory obligations into actionable guidance that supports operational clarity

  • Act as the central point of contact for compliance-related questions, escalations, and implementation support

  • Drive a culture of compliance and documentation at MILES by promoting clarity, accountability, and consistency across teams

  • Prepare documentation for internal audits, leadership reviews, and external assessments

  • Lead the development of a practical “House of GRC” that enables fast, responsible decision-making and scales with the business

Build and Strengthen Internal Controls

  • Identify control needs, define appropriate mechanisms, and implement documentation across key workflows

  • Ensure appropriate approval structures, traceability, and segregation of duties in line with audit and GoBD requirements

  • Identify opportunities for streamlining or automating control activities without compromising robustness

  • Support audit readiness and sustainable internal control system development

Establish and Embed Risk Transparency

  • Introduce a structured approach to enterprise risk that reflects MILES’ current stage, profile, and exposure

  • Coordinate regular risk identification and review cycles to strengthen organizational awareness and ownership

  • Maintain clear documentation and follow-through processes for mitigation and escalation

  • Shape a proportionate, decision-oriented risk view that enables transparency and supports responsible growth

Your Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, or internal controls - ideally in a regulated, tech-driven and/or mobility environment.
  • Practical experience translating policies into operational controls and scalable processes.
  • Strong understanding of German and EU compliance and governance frameworks  such as ISO 37301, IDW PS 980/951 and GoBD.
  • Structured, pragmatic thinker with excellent documentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and collaborating across teams with diverse incentives.
  • Fluent in German and English.
